It's been a while. I've been busy and to be honest, I've been totally out of the loop for writing ideas. I'm trying to veer away from so many giveaways and focus on content. But there has been a dirth of content ideas.
Anyway, I am excited to share two things with you:
1. April is Autism Awareness Month. I didn't know this until Melanie from the Teacher's Lounge contacted me about contributing a product to include in a fundraiser she is holding to raise money for Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks is an organization working to find causes, cures, and treatments for autism and working to raise awareness about autism. There are five total bundles available for grades PreK-2, 3-5, an 6-8, and 100% of proceeds go directly to Autism Speaks. Any of these bundles would make a great addition to your collection of activities. They would also make great gifts for fellow teachers and especially new teachers, all while raising money for a very important cause.
2. April is also the Month of the Military Child. I grew up in a military family, and let me tell you military families deal with unique situations that can be very stressful, especially for children. Lcie from The Beezy Teacher teaches children of military families in a Department of Defense school in Germany. She kindly invited me to be a guest blogger today over on her little bit of cyberspace. Lcie has an awesome blog and I know she's a fabulous teacher. I hope you will pay a visit and read along!
Y'all have a great day!
